The precinct
Gateway is planned as four architecturally distinct buildings that together form a connected residential village. Each building has its own lobby, with landscaped spaces and carefully planned circulation between them, a central village green at ground level and retail at street level. The developer’s aim is the amenity of a major precinct with the feel of a smaller neighbourhood.

The four buildings
- Summit
- Divided into East and West wings, each with its own entrance lobby. The Summit Roof Garden has elevated views across Civic, Black Mountain and Mount Ainslie to the Brindabellas.
- Vista
- On Northbourne Avenue, with views across Canberra’s established northern suburbs towards Black Mountain and the Brindabellas.
- Terrace
- Described by the developer as one of the last truly north-facing buildings on the Northbourne Avenue corridor. Home to the rooftop Sky Terrace.
- Outlook
- Fronts Lowanna Street and is closest to the pool, gym, sauna and business lounge, with easterly views to Mount Ainslie.
Summit and Vista in numbers

Location
The developer places Gateway at the meeting point of four inner-city suburbs and the ceremonial entry to the National Capital, with light rail, cycle networks and walkable streets linking it to Braddon, the city centre, parklands, universities and employment precincts. Its location map gives these approximate times:
- Macarthur Avenue light rail stop: at the door
- Dickson Interchange: 2 minutes; Elouera Street: 3 minutes; Alinga Street (city): 6 minutes by light rail
- Parks and sporting grounds: 7 minutes’ walk
- Turner School: 5 minutes’ drive; Campbell High School and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School: 6 minutes’ drive
- University of Canberra, the Australian National Botanic Gardens and Canberra Airport: about 10 minutes’ drive
Places marked on the map nearby include the Lonsdale Street dining precinct, Haig Park and the Haig Park Markets, the Canberra Centre, Dickson shops, the Australian National University and UNSW Canberra City. The developer notes that construction of Light Rail Stage 2A, from Alinga Street to Commonwealth Park, has begun, and that a further extension to Woden (Stage 2B) is subject to planning, funding and approvals.
The developer
Geocon develops and builds Gateway. In its sales books it says it has been building in Canberra for 19 years, with 15 developments and more than 5,000 dwellings delivered, and that every Gateway buyer receives a two-year defect liability period rather than what it describes as the typical 90 days (terms and conditions apply; see the contract for sale).
These are the developer’s own statements. NextKey has not independently verified them.
